i,m from a uniform group before. when i first join , i was really happy and proud. all my family members were also proud too...but since i got to know all the "political" and the SOP things
to follow, i just gave up and proceed to join private sector which i did not regret going to...
basically , i believe you should your interest or dreams first then simply joining thinkin its great...
wish you the best...!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Here's the deal: The military is not for everyone, but if you're thinking about joining the military, the Air Force should be your first choice. I could give you a list a mile long of reasons why the Air Force is the way to go, but I'll hit the high-points:
-- Shortest basic training
-- Less physically demanding than the other branches
-- Many jobs that translate into high-paying civilian jobs
-- Less chance of seeing combat than the other branches
-- Best chance of taking college courses while you're in
-- Tuition assistance (80% if you get a C or better)
-- Best overall living conditions
-- Shorter deployments (120 days vs. 15 months)
-- Assignments in GREAT places all over the world
-- They treat you better than the other branches of the service because they want you to make the Air Force your career
-- Their plan works: Retention rate of over 60% as opposed to 40-45% for the Navy, 25-30% for the Army, and 20-25% for the Marines
I'll sum it up with the words I've heard countless times from my colleagues in the Army, the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard: "MAN, I wish I had joined the Air Force!" |

Rep Power: 0 | | | what are your questions, my husband is 24 and has been in since he was 19, he loves it, its better then a regular job, he just took a month off, he has great benefits, he's traveled to every continent, they are paying for his school, he has his associates and is working on his bachelors, they have the best bases and technology, the only piece of advice is pick out the job you want, don't let the AF pick it for you, for example, don't just say "i want to work in a hospital" you have to remember even hospitals have janitors so you might get stuck being a custodian for 4 years, my husband wanted to work on the planes, be a sort of mechanic and he picked an avionics technician, he fixes C-17's he's also a flying crew chief (pick your missions, fly with the planes all over the world, his job: if the plane breaks he fixes it where ever they are) he's going to be a lifer, good luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I joined to beat the draft. They will send you to a school based on your aptitude tests or if you already have education and training in a skill, they will place you in that kind of work
since I had a degree in accounting I was assigned to the Auditor General Department ,as a bypass specialist and did not attend a 'tech school'.
If you have no aptitudes or abilities, you will probably end up in Food Service , maintenance ,or the Air Police | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
