How to quit my job, in a good way?

I have work for 7 years for this company, they have been really good with me. It is just that I desided to join The US Air Force, how should I quit my job so they would understand?

I'm in the same dilemma. I had to tell my current boss that my potential new employer wants to check my job reference, was so hard telling him!!! I just sat down, told him why this was a better choice for me and my family. Honestly, how can employer not support you in an endeavor such as that?

If you're joining the U.S. Air Force I'm pretty sure they will understand. Write out a notice and talk to your boss. Let them know what you are doing and why it is important to you. I'm pretty sure they will understand and writing out a notice (whether it be a week, two weeks, etc.) will make things more professional. Leaving a notice will make you look good if you choose to come back to the company someday. Good luck!
