How many air force troops are stationed in or work in the middle east?

The air force does not always deploy units but rather expeditionary forces. Usually these forces are comprised of members from various units consolidated together to form a unit. Whatever the numbers on the ground in Iraq, there are many support folks in place to support close air support, intelligence gathering (reconnaissance) and transportation of equipment and troops. They also support other branches of the military with logistics and healthcare functions. Also, some units and personnel may be deployed to other countries in the region conducting various support missions and training missions.
