| My boyfriend is going into the National guard and then into the Air force.Well I know its going to be hard.? that makes no sense. the national guard is a branch of the army that works for the state...now the AIR national guard can, but you need a waiver from your commander requesting a transfer into the federal military, since the guard isnt federal- its state.. you dont need to worry about him, A.F. is a piece of cake and depending on his job, unless its a highspeed job, he wont be in any danger |

| My boyfriend is going into the National guard and then into the Air force.Well I know its going to be hard.? It'll be alright. If you're a spiritual person or a religious person than you should turn to prayer. I think one of the things you could do is write not only to him but in a diary (to get all of your feelings out, so that they won't be held inside). When you write him write about everything even the insignificant stuff (it will kind of ensure a since of normalcy for both of you). I'm sure that you are worried about his safety (that's perfectly normal), you should talk to him about this, I would even go so far as to studying the different types of military branches and what there purposes are (terminology, strategy and so forth) just so you can kind of get an idea of what it is he's doing and what it is he goes through. It may also ease your fears, because you won't feel like such an outsider. You might even consider sending him care packages. This will help him cope better with being away, as well as getting him the things he may need that the military doesn't necessarily supply. It will also make you feel included, like you are doing your share for both you your boyfriend and the country. Another thing you could do is to keep a scrapbook of all the things that he will miss, so that when he comes back he can a least experince a captured piece of it, and it will give you two something to talk about when he gets home. Before he leaves make a pact of some sort that includes what's important to both of you. In that pact while it may seem irrational of you, ask him to do everything that he can to maintain his safety and his likelyhood of coming home.I'm sorry this response was so long winded, but I hope I helped a little. |
