how to deal with being in the navy? i am in navy, i am still in training status. i am going for ET. i have been in the navy for about 6 months and i have seen my fiancee for 2 weeks during christmas stand down. i miss her so much and i am depressed. i trust her and i know that she won't leave me, i just worry about her up and leaving me for being away so long.. i just miss her so bad... i can't picture 6 years of this. this is hell, being in the navy isn't so bad, but being away from her is so hard. how do you deal with it? please help.

Take pride in the fact that she loves you and is standing by you while you do your time in the service. You say you trust her, and it sounds like you mean that. It's hard to stay "upbeat" but take comfort in the knowledge that her feelings for you are secure and you will have a long and wonderful like together. Things will get better as you adjust to your schedule.

It gets better. I'm an Army wife and you are just starting your military career. Once you are done with all your training and go to your first duty station then she can move to where you are at. She should know being in the military does involve some time apart. My husband has been in 8 yrs. and has been gone 3 seperate whole years. But it's definetly worth the wait. I wish you the best of luck!

well, having gone through navy boot camp myself, as well as my hubby, i know that it is hard...especially when being gone for months at a time. the best thing to do is to email, call, write letters as much as possible...do anything that you can in order to feel closer to each other. if possible, have her fly in to visit you one weekend...you're still at ET school at Great Lakes, right? depending on what you duty looks like, or if you want to take some leave (if they'll allow that), it shouldn't be too hard for her to visit. but hang in there...it will get easier, believe me. not sure how that works, but pretty soon, your school will be over and then you can see her more often...hang in there and best of luck to ya!
