Navy question?

I've been in the DEP program for the NAVY since 08'07 and my rating was GSM with a sign on bonus. Yesterday, two weeks before I was supposed to leave(03/04/08) my recruiter calls me in and tells me that the classifier at MEPS messed up and I cannot keep my bonus and tells me to switch rates with no bonuses. He gives me a group of Admin jobs (AZ, SK, PS, YN) and I won't know which one i get until the third week at RTC. Does this sound right or does it happen often. and are these jobs respectable or good?

You are getting hosed. I would find out who his CO is and make contact fast

if you had a guaranteed "A" school he's pulling you chain...if not hope for AZ because it's probably the highest (of the 4) paying civilian field to get into

Do not leave for boot camp without a guaranteed A school. You have the right to go back and change your paperwork and request a new job, you're not at the mercy of the recruiter, so don't feel like you need to rush into anything. There are plenty of jobs available with bonuses still, tell your recruiter you want to go back and reclassify.
