The US is training an Iraqi army? Why? Surely not to defend themselves from a 2nd US

invasion, is it? Apart from the fact that the US is in no hurry to leave when there's the oil to protect, having already accomplished its goals of halting the sale of oil in Euros, eliminating Saddam's previous oil contracts, getting Iraqi oil off-line, thus raising the price of oil, and thus the value of the US petro-dollar (like it did in '73 under the US-manufactured Arab oil embargo), and re-writing their laws to allow us to rape them nice and legal-like?
Isn't the real enemy the domestic population, theirs and ours? Isn't the US really training the Iraqi army so that 1)The US empire will have maleable colonels already installed when we need to overthrow a democratic, populist or nationalist civilian gov't (as the US does elsewhere)? and because 2) it allows the continuance of cold war spending, military Keynesianism, the public subsidy of armament and industrial spending, under yet another guise (terrorists, this time) at the expense of public works?
