What are the chances of me getting into the navy nuke program?

I am currently in the navy DEP program and was told that I pre-qualify for the navy nuke program. and I am waiting for my paper work to come back. I made a 90 on my asvab and have an associates degree in mechanical engineering technology. I would have asked for it at Mep's but they told me to choose a job for the mean while so they could process my paper work for the nuke program. I chose to sign up for utilities man which is a seabee's rate. But I would really like to get into the nuke program because I am really good at math.

So my question is how long will it take for them to find out if I can get into the nuke program. And also is there a real need for them at the time.

My second question is just incase I don't make it. Is utilities man a good rate. I will be an E-3 if I start in this rate. Yes I read the paper work
