Why does the US and its military think it has the right to tell everyon what to do?

Its not as if the US is a great democrcay (have to be rich just to run for president). They torture people, use WMD, fund dictators yet go on and on about fighting for democracy. Rubbish! The US military is anti freedom and democracy. Why do theu think they can inflict their violence and opinions on the rest of the world?
