Military Occupation in the Navy?

I chose my job at MEPS and was wondering if I had the chance to change it during Boot Camp or after, because I'm not sure I chose a good job (sonar technician).

You chose Sonar Tech so you will be a Sonar Tech...unless of course you do not get through "A" school. Then...well two crossed anchors on your sleeve shouldn't be all that bad. You do need to talk to your recruiter about this though.

Well, if you aren't being sent to ST A-School (still at Dam Neck, VA ?), but are being sent to the fleet as an ST Striker... you SHOULD be able to run a request-chit at your command to change your rate.

IF You go to ST A-School, you'll be stuck in that rating for your enlistment, but can TRY to cross-rate at reenlistment

ST is a great Job!! Not very dirty, lot's of training in technology, many people joke that ST's are First to go on liberty, last to board before deployment. Stay in that rating.
