Can i join the navy if i had childhood asthma?

I am thinking about joining the navy. I had problems with asthma as a kid, nothing major, just every once in a while i had to use an inhaler. I have been a swimmer all my life and haven't had to use my inhaler since i was like 7 or 8. Will the navy still take me?

If you can pass the physical tests and want to join, then you probably can.

The physical requirements matter mostly to being drafted or not being physically capable of meeting the demands of the service.

Just pass those tests.

I had asthma as a kid as well. I had to get checked up by a doctor and get a waiver from MEPS before I could join the Marines. No big deal. I hope this helps.
