Standing watch after Navy Pass In Review?

I am attending a graduation ceremony next week, the Navy PIR.

I've heard that some graduates have to stand watch one day of their liberty weekend. Would they only have to stand watch on the time after the day of their graduation, or could it be any day of the weekend? What determines who will stand watch, or is it completely random? It would be really unfortunate if he did have to stand watch since going out to Great Lakes from California has really been a pain. Thank you in advance for your answers.
