...sign on bonus? im 17 years old and a junior in highschool. im going to basic this summer and ait next summer. so will i get most of that after basic or ait? im an mp if that helps and i did get the full 20k. my contract says 6 years. please help me figure out how my pay is broken down. thanks

After AIT when you get into your regular unit, they will do the paperwork. You will get half of the bonus (10,000 minus TAXES so about $7,800) right when you get to your regular unit, and then the rest will be broken down on the anniversary of when you first recieved your bonus for the remaining of your years.

I know this to be true as both my son and husband are army soldiers and this is how they recieved thiers.

Half when you graduate AIT, the rest will come on your anniversary date divided equally for the length of your enlistment
