I have a friend who is a Resident alien but not a legal US citizen could he still enlist with me?
He is an Illegal Immigrant his nationality is mexican

I know that it was done in the past, but don't know if it is still done. Call a recruiter and ask. When I was in the service, there were several non citizens in my unit.

They certainly can. In fact, there has been quite the series of news articles this past week on just that, soldiers fighting with the US forces who are not US citizens.

Yeah but during Basic they must renounce their citizenship to their home country and swear allegiance to the flag and the united states of america.
