| Air National Guard Question?
I recently have gone through MEPS and completed all evaluations succesfully. My ASVAB results and physical results allow me any job of my choice in the Air National Guard. I am enlisting because I currently do not have a degree, however I am a student so I will have one in a couple of years. I have always been interested in law. I am looking at the Security Forces M.O.S. I am not active duty I will be reserve duty stationed at Warner Robbins GA. I would like any advice on Deployment rates for reserves, deployment length, promotional growth within m.o.s, job responsabilities, and any other information regaurding this field. I would also like advice on other fields that are exciting and rewarding. My recruiter and I have set this Friday as a goal to have acareerfield chosen and sign on the dotted line.

Security Forces is a good way to go. I have to ask, if you are studying law, then why not go active duty and finish your law degree in the military? There is the JAG corps, and from what I hear, this is a pretty good way to go. You will finish your degree, and Uncle Sam pays for that, plus you get real time on the job training, and paid for all of it while you are there. You won't get an offer like that from anyone else.

Security Forces have a high deployment tempo from what I saw when I was on active duty. Naturally if the deployment rate is high on active duty, they will turn to guard and reserves for relief. Many security forces units are filling ground positions for defense that are traditionally Army billets. Send me a note if you want to talk about specifics.
