Is it weird to have a cat with allergies?

Whenever I tell my friends that my cat has allergies, they find it so bizarre. As if cats arent supposed to have allergies since humans have allergies from cats...

Anyway I love my cat so much and find her allergies charming and sweet
P.S. - my vet has said its normal and that my cat is perfectly healthy... so i'm not concerned about her, I just want to know if others think its weird or if I'm the only one that doesnt find it weird if cats have allergies...

I have a cat that's allergic to my other cat. After cleaning the house from top to bottom, changing cleaners, getting rid of cleaners, trying to clean with just water in case it was vinegar she was allergic to, changing her food constantly, pulling up the carpet (luckily nice hardwood underneath), etc...we found out she was allergic to other cats.

It's not severe though, really all we have to do is make sure there's not many kitty fur tumbleweeds rolling around the house.

Yes cats can have alleriges because my cat sweetpea also does,,,,shes sneezes all the time and has watery eyes,,,so dont let anyone tell you thats cats can't have alleries,,,,,I know lots of people that tell me the same things that their cats has allergies ,,,hope this helpes
