Hamster mites gave us allergies and were misdiagnosed with scabies?
My fiance nad I had very bad rashes and we were both diagnosed seperatly by our doctors. Mine said I had scabies and his told him he had a viral infection, needless to say we had tons of medication. We both had gut feelings we were misdiagnosed so we both went to a dermatologist who told us we had allergic reaction to a mite or bug bite. We didn't have bed bugs so we were really scared and life has been miserable. Tonight we found some small lookingt icks on the arm and one in the bathroom sink. Eventually we checked our hamster Carl- and there they were, all over his cage.This is awful. The nightmare of us thinking we had scabies has already turned our lives inside out, now what do we do, get rid of our hamster too? Has anyone ever gone though this? The mites have moved into our bedroom and bethroom I'm afraid- so do we need to get rid of our hamster even after using some sort of mite spray/repellent and cleaners? HE
