Sinus Infection or Allergy or What?!?

Okay, shortly after New Years I came down with the flu pretty rough, lasted for about a week. A few weeks later (back to school, probably because of exposure to people again) I got a cold that lasted 10 days or so. Ever since then my throat has felt irritated, and to me looks a little red. I've been to doctors to get tested for strep but i don't have it. My symptoms are:
Sore throat
Clogged nose (not always)
slight pain in ears at times
dry cough
in the morning especially, spit up thick greenish-yellow mucus
Occasional headaches

The doctor said I might have a dust allergy, but this has been ongoing for months! Do you think i need antibiotics?
