| Hair dye allergy - how long to show up??? Last Saturday I had a skin test done in preparation for having my hair dyed this Saturday. It burned for about 5mins when it first went on, but other than that, no reaction. I left it on for approx 40 hours, and it seemed fine, so I washed it off in the shower as normal. On Thursday, I noticed that my left eyelid was starting to swell. Today, it's red, it really hurts and my eye is half closed. I'm having my hair done tomorrow. Would this have been caused by the dye from the skin test? Or is it way too long after? I've heard that one of the common reactions to hair dyes can be swollen eyelids, but generally it's within 24 hours... Help! Also, if I take antibiotics for it (if it's not an allergy) will this possibly make me allergic? |
