9 month old allergy question? my child had an allegic reaction to something. Not a bad one, but I can't call or take him to a doctor right now to see what kind and how much allergy medicine I can give him. He is in the 50th percentile for weight. Does anyone give their child allergy medicine that knows what kind and the right dose for his age and weight?

You would need to know the baby's weight in pounds to find out how much Benadryl to give. Benadryl is perfectly safe to give, but given the circmumstances, I think it's best to find a way to call your doctor so you don't give too much.

i wouldn't give him anything until a doctor tells you what too give him or the pharmacist.,... i wouldn't listen too any one on here about this kinda info. They can be wrong and you can seriously harm your child.. Go too the doctors/ER or call the pharmacy too make sure what kinda and how much

what kind of reaction did he have? maybe we can help determine if any meds at all should be given. when my son was 8-9m, I was told to give him 1/4 teaspoon of children's benadryl. I'm not saying give that amount to your son, but that's what I was told to give. I only gave mine the benadryl if he actually consumed eggs or milk & having a reaction. Good Luck!
