cat allergy - what is worse long hair or short hair?

For someone who is allergic to cat hair what will make there symptoms worse long haired cats or short hair? or does that not matter?
yes i am asthmatic
can i just add that i only have mild asthma. i havent used an inhaler for weeks, plus i take an antihystamine everyday
