I need allergy advice, I've never had allergies like this?

I have had the sniffles for the past few springs, but this year it's completely different. I can't even sleep more than a few hours. I work in a hospital and I can't blow my forever-running nose every five seconds. I bought some benadryl Max strength, but it just knocks me out. I don't know what I'm allergic to. Should I keep trying otc's, or should I head to my doctors?
