| Does anybody's throat get dry due to seasonal allergies?
Mine has been really dry. And it's not dry mouth, so much as it is my throat. My mouth feels pretty moist. You know how you can move the back of your tongue up and back to wet your throat- well mine is so dry that is not even effective. It's like water washes right over it and it's hard to stay moist. It's really annoying, and I'm assuming it's allergy related.

Yeah, some of my friends complain of the same problem. They say that drinking milk helps because it coats the throat more than water. Usually it's during the colder months when they complain of this because running heaters causes houses to become dryer, which adds to the problem.

The dry mouth could be related to the allergy medicine you are taking or from the post nasal drip associated with your allergies. If none of the above you should seek medical attention. Not to scare you, and this is worse case scenario I've head of people who can not seem to quench their thirst, who end up having diabetes or a pituitary gland problem. Good luck. |
