I have really itchy skin for no reason i have no known allergies please help me?

the past 6 weeks i have had very itchy skin, no rash at all and it feels as though it is under the surface of the skin like prickly heat. It is all over my body and not localised in one place. i have not changed my washing powder in years and have not changed my soap or shampoo etc please does anyone have any ideas what this could possibly be? thanks XXXXXXX
