does my cat have allergies?

my cat cannot breath through his mouth...only his nose and even so, there is mucus all over it and his eyes are running. he has a great appetite and doesn;'t seem to mind thses problems since hes use to them. but he refuses to be indoors, so he's msotly an outdoor cat, but sometimes he does come in during the day, when he feels like it. otherwise he sleeps in our garage. so anwyay does he have allergies? i woul;d think he'd be dead by now if it was a cold..since he's been this way for like a year now. i am taking him to the vet, but i'm just wondering if u think its allergies?

sounds like an upper respitory infection. also if he has been like this for a year he should have seen a vet when it first started as it will take longer to sort now.
