| food allergy testing for 10 year old? We just finished getting my son tested for food allergies, using the ELISA IgG test (a comprehensive blood test). Does anyone have any info that can help me with the test results? My son had 2 level 3 allergies (the highest level) with oat and brewers yeast, and two level 2 allergies (peanut and soybean) and then a BUNCH of level ones. My allergist told me to eliminate all the foods that came up at any level, as well as any foods that he isn't technically allergic to, but feed the yeast. The kid will basically be able to eat only foods that I have never heard of. Has anyone else gone through the testing, and what did you do with the results? Did you do the total elimination diet, or just go for the big guns? I'm worried because since he is only 10 (and note, he doesn't feel sick at all), if he doesn't notice he if feeling significantly better, he is just going to be in absolute misery. Please help! |
