what causes spring allergy?

Hello all,
I am worried about my symptoms, I think they are allergy symptoms (itchy eyes and nose, ...) it is the first time ever I get them, and I am 21 years old guy. is it normal to get allergy at my age?

my main question is, what could have caused my allergy to pollens in the first place? I have had no problens in the previous springs at all..
any related advice would be appreciated.
