Sore throat due to allergies?

A few weeks ago my boyfriend had a cold and all year long my immune system has been like steel. This morning I woke up and felt perfectly fine, and later in the day my bf and some of his friends came over and we made some ice cream and ate it. All of th sudden, after eating the ice cream my throat got so sore! It wasn't gradual at all, it just hit me. None of the ingredients were new to my taste buds: cream, sugar, whole milk, vanilla but I keep wondering if this is an allergic reaction to something or if I am getting sick, I just have never had a sore throat happen to me in about two seconds, and it's really frustrating, so I was wondering if anyone knew if there may be some common allergy to something in any of those ingredients or if I DID just get sick in the blink of an eye
