veryanya has a spectacular aura about
how to reduce cat allergy for 1 weekend?

our in-laws are staying with us this weekend and one is very allergic to cats (we have 2), last time he came over for dinner after an hour he was unable to breathe. we got a HEPA filter and I plan to run it in the guest room that whole weekend and also through the rest of the house before they arrive, actualyl the cats have never been in the guest room before. I also plan to brush and bathe the cats, and vacuum everywhere the day before. Should I contain the cats in a different bedroom for the weekend? Another option would be to have the cats stay with a friend that weekend.. not sure if this would help much

unforuntaly the cats HAVE slept on the guest room bed before as it used to be our bed. I washed the bedsheets, is there anything I should do to the mattress? Should I be washing the bedsheets in cold water or hot? I usually wash cold to save energy but maybe hot is needed for controlling cat dander? I also read we should vacuum the walls?

oh &he won't take allergy meds
