Cat allergies - not mine, the cat's! Can I help her?

My youngest cat (9 months) has had runny eyes and sneezing since she was a kitten. The vet just said "She has allergies, don't worry about it." but I feel bad for the little fuzz monster.

It's funny sometimes because she'll just be sitting somewhere, totally still, staring at me like she's reading my mind - then all the sudden she'll sneez and it'll knock her back, and she'll look around like "whoa, what was that?".

But is there anything I can feed a cat to help her with her own allergies? No body is allergic to her, it's her whose allergic to us! lol.

My cat Willie has allergies. My vet gave me a pill called Temeril for his sneezing and I run an air purifier for him. That helped him alot. It's sad to watch your baby suffer, I know.

Your vet didn't offer any help in relieving her allergies? I'd find another vet.

Two of my cats have been on allergy meds (prescribed by the vet), one of my cats was also severely asthmatic and on inhalers for the asthma. I used air purifiers, which seemed to help. Plus my cats are on a grain free diet (grains are difficult for cats to digest, and they are known to cause allergy problems in cats—especially wheat and corn).

Avoid scented cat litter, perfumed air fresheners, and all of the usual suspects, but realize that food allergies could make her sneeze as well.

Good luck with her.
