| Can't join the Coast Guard...now what? I can't join the Coast Guard because I've had an inhaler after age 12. I told them it is for restricted airway caused by allergies in extreme conditions. I had childhood asthma but is has faded away. I'm an active person through swimming, cross country, BMX, biking, etc which makes it harder for me to be told 'no'. My question now is what am I supposed to do? I really want to commit to something for a while. I'm a sophmore in college and tired of living a life of boredom and washed out friends.      |

| Can't join the Coast Guard...now what? are you interested in any other branch of the service? i know my brother-in-law has allergies and served in the marines... what about some other service? - like an international red cross or a volunteer group where you can travel and serve humanity for a couple of years. |
