| Why am I coughing? Over the past few weeks I have developed this cough. Usually I will cough once or twice after talking a sentence or two, but can cough randomly throughout the day or just after saying one word. I really have no idea why I started doing this, and its really bothering me. My throat is not sore nor do I have any head cold related symptoms. Sometimes before coughing my chest feels a little tight but thats it.Im 17 years old, have allergies that is kept efficiently under control with medications, and do not smoke. I highly doubt it could be lung cancer; the only reason I cant rule it out is because I was exposed to second-hand smoking growing up. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.Il post more details if anyone thinks it can help |

Asthma can develop at any age, it generally starts with allergies ie cats, mold, dust, pollution, any thing inhaled. Even road construction resulting in dust. What job do you have that might contribute to these symptoms? Also it is the season for all types of plants right now. Keep a journal of what was in your environment when you experienced coughing.
