My skin has really darkened, due to skin allergy, pls help.?

i'm 18 now...since i was 14 i had this skin allergy on the back of my knee.....due to the allergy there was itching, and i used to scratch it, i showed it to a doctor and he suggested some creams, now the allergy has gone, there is minor itching now and then but the problem is that the skin on the back on my right knee has become dark dry and ugly....m really tensed, what should i do....pls help....

would it be ok to bleach it to lighten it? cause i'm really fair and it looks yuck...
