Is there any way to cure allergies?

Not just stop symptoms for a little while, but completly cure then anti-histamine reaction.
Because, my brother became allergic to cats, and we're gonna have to get rid of them, but we all really really really really really REALLY dont want to....
And the only way out of getting rid of them is if my brother stop being allergic to them.

nope. maybe by experimental surgery.. but nope. no way
temeporary though.. hard candy's with a lot of sugar.. ( i found this one out)
like he cough drops.. those help
