| what foods do you avoid giving your 8 month old b/c they may give "allergies"? i meant to ask this with my last question but got sidetracked. thanks! i heard eggs, whole milk, dairy, etc. are no-nos. are they?      |

| actually for first time eating, it isn't such a bad thing to give them a little to try...eggs, peanutbutter, milk, yogurt, strawberries, flavored juices, stuff like that are things that can cause allergic reactions. but if you always avoid them then how would you know if they are allergic, and it's best to know so you can tell family, friends, and daycare just incase those things are on the menu one day. but if it's the first time the child is trying it you should give it to them in a small amount and just keep an eye on them for the rest of the day. that's what i did with my boys, they have yet to be allergic though. |
