| dog with allergies?
My adopted lab/poodle mix is always itching her face and body and also licking her paws. My vet told me it is probably food allergies. I switched foods to a perscription diet which didn't work. then I switched to a salmon and potatoe grain free food for the past month and a half. I don't think it is food allergies! What else can it be......it isn't fleas.....She was in the shelter for 3 months, could that have done something?

Could be more than one allergy, or nerves, or the food is too 'hot' for your dog. Or a combination of any of the above. Give the dog a bath with a MILD soap, MILD rinse (but no scents). Then experiment with the food. Make up your own for about a week and see if there is any change. Remember not all dogs eat commercial food and are very healthy. |
