| Sinus/allergy advice... 5 1/2 months pregnant?
I had the flu really really bad about 3 weeks ago. I was put on antibiotics and all sorts of stuff I wasn't crazy about taking since I'm pregnant (cough syrup with codeine). Well last week I got sick again with a sore throat and head congestion. My sore throat went away after a day but I can not clear my head out. My nose is constantly stuffed up, especially when I try to sleep, and just yesterday and today my ears have started to have a lot of perssure behind them. I'm not really in any pain, but the pressure behind my ears is really really uncomfortable and getting worse. I don't want to go back to the doc because I don't want to take any more medicines. Are there any over the counter/home remedies that are safe for me that will help clear my nose and relieve the pressure behind my ears? I have tried the sinus rinse where you shoot the salt water up your nose and let it drain out your other orafices... didn't do anything. |

Were you doing the sinus rinse correctly? Also if you are really stuffed up it take AWHILE to break it down. The first few times I did this it just dripped back out of my nose. This was because my sinuses were so clogged. But after a few days I felt it go down the back of my throat some which made me gag. After awhile I had a lot more pain in my face and around my sinuses. This was because all the stuff was loosening up & finally started coming out. The stuff what came out was pretty gross. My nose would bleed and some clots came out too. But I felt a lot better so I knew it was working. I've now been using this method for almost 3yrs now and I've gone from 8-10 sinus infections a year to just 1-2 a year. I also had them while preg. with my 3 kids. I think I was told to take Tylonal Sinus. This was BEFORE I did the sinus rinse. So ask your dr. if you can use the Tylonal Sinus. |
