Jen B has a spectacular aura about
milk allergy?

My son has been eating dairy prodocts (cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt) since about 10 months old. He turned 1 about 3 weeks ago and has been drinking whole milk since. He has not had any problems until a couple days ago. I found out that on easter my mom gave him a little taste of ricotta pie which had powder sugar on it and also giving him some sugar free cool whip. starting the next afternoon he began with light colored liquid diarrhea (not to be nasty) Last night he went after his bottle of milk then when through the night without any stool. I have noticed today though that after his milk bottles is when this has been happening. Any ideas? Is it from what he ate? The shots (MMR, varicella)? Milk allergy (can they develop it after being ok with it?) or something else. Any answers are appreciated. I have called the doctor and they advised me to put him on the BRAT diet.

I'd bet its a reaction to the artificial sweetener.

In the US they use the BRAT diet, they don't where I live so I can't tell you how effective it is.

stick with the BRAT diet for now, but I think that whatever he ate just didnt agree with him, you know when you eat way too much chowder soup it just doesnt digest right and you run for the toilet, same thing happened with your son. Just wait a little bit longer to feed him that kind of sugary stuff and youll be fine.

It is probably not a milk allergy. This would of shown up earlier.

It could be from the sugar free cool whip. Sometimes the artificial sweeteners can cause problems.

I would stick w/ the BRAT diet, and slowly add the dairy back in to see if there are any more problems.

My kids would always get diarrhea when they were teething.
It would last a few days and then go back to normal. Don't know if that's your problem but if he's been drinking milk up until this and has had no allergy then it doesn't seem likely to me. Milk products always seem to make diarrhea worse. It could also just be a virus. I've had 3 kids and I always kept Pedialyte on hand for stuff like this.
