Do Guinea Pig have allergies?

I know that usually any warning sign on a Guinea pig is bad news in certain cases, but my Guinea is extremely active. He eats like a ...well like a pig! He has the sniffles though, and sort of gooey eyes. They aren't really crusty though, and he hasn't acted lethargic in any shape or form.

So I suppose my advice is what my should my next step be
