Midol alternatives? Any natural tips?

I'm home today because I have the most killer, intense cramps ever. The last time I took Midol I had a funky reaction (it made me dizzy) and so I'm afraid to take it again. I took Advil a couple of hours ago, but it hasn't made a dent. I'm all dizzy and sweaty even though I have the air on full blast, and my back is ....killing me. and I have a massive headache. I have zero desire to eat. All I've managed is coffee & soymilk. Has this ever happened to anybody? I'm 16, a little skinny, but healthy, and this has never sucked so much before! Does anyone know of anything else I can do? I'm seriously contemplating taking one of the left over vicodins from having my wisdom teeth taken out, but I don't want to over kill. I really like natural medicine & treating things holistically.....and then resorting to the knock out painkillers. I'd be SUPER grateful for tips. Thx!

This is exactly what I go through every month....Hot baths, with a little bath salt helps. Also, get a heating pad. Those Therma-care pads might help. Don't take vicodin for cramps. Pamprin is over the counter and is like Midol, but has different ingredients in it. Or you can try Naproxem Sodium tablets. Of course, read the labels, to know how much to take and how often. If it's possible, go for a walk and get a little excercise each day. It's hard to eat when the thought of it makes you nauseous, so you need to get something in your system. Crackers, dry Cheerios, something simple. Snack throughout the day. Get some rest. Hope this helps.LL

I think you need to go to the root of the problem. Why do you get cramps? Are they related to your stomach? Can It be a diet thing?I get cramps, and to some extend its related to my stomach and somewhat my diet! But the crown I will hav to put it on emotions! If something go wrong, I will get the cramps, or other stomach pain! If I will be geting dumped, I will get that, I know it!Same painkillers will help, but if you can try to not get your body used to them!emeber even the "natural" ones, have some unatural potencies! You can have a strong pepermint tea (two bags), try to have no cafeine, no coffies for a bit. Natural milk is better when you got cramps, be it the cows, or the goat (goad milk is though to be extremely healthy because it has small molekules and you body can break it down with ease, unlike the popular cows milk).By the way a bath with salets will defenitely help as wel!I hope you are all right soon!
