| Would majoring in anthropology be a good idea for me?
I love my lvl 100 anthro class and I want to major in it. I also want a steady job that pays decently. Upon consulting with my family about this, the advice I got was to look elsewhere because unless I have a PhD in anthro, I won't get much and I'll end up working as a starbucks manager all my life. I know I won't be any Indiana Jones... I'm realistic. I'm figuring it would be an office job of some sort dealing with ethnographies. I grew up in poverty and money is a huge "selling point" for me. I don't need millions, just enough to support me and a kid or two on my own.
Basically: WHAT job opportunities are out there for me that don't involve travel?
What are the odds of somebody with a BA getting one of them in the next 4-5 years?
What would my pay be like to start and over time? |
