the regular army? would i need to quit the territorial army and apply for the regular army again

I am pretty sure you can transfer straight in but you may have to do basic again - this can certainly happen with SAS and SBS reservists, but the Reserve status will be slightly different to TA.

What territorial army are you talking about? Are you in the U.S.? We don't have territorial armies.
