| should I make an appointment to talk to someone at ROTC?
I am very confused. Do I want to make an appointment with a ROTC director at a college I want to go to? How does it work, do I meet with one of them and they can say I'm a good candidate for a scholarship or what? Do I need a request from the director to get into the program at all. I need help! If anyone could please give me as much information as possible about how this whole thing works that would be AMAZING! I've already applied to ROTC for the army, but whats my next step?

Once you're applying to the college or university, just go to the MILITARY SCIENCE or ROTC department, and ask to see the Professor of Military Science, or any other member of the cadre. Explain to them that you're enrolling at the school and you're interested in joining or participating in ROTC. They'll handle everything from there and explain all the options to you.

First you want to sign up for ROTC classes so you don't miss the deadline for registration...my university's deadline is 1 Jul 08...early registration has ended. I highly encourage you to make an appointment with the unit admission officer (or whatever the Army call them). If you just show up, he/she/it may have other appointments and will not be able to spend as much time with you as you might like. You can go over any questions/concerns you might have at that time. I would check out the website for scholarship info...AFROTC has already selected our scholarship winners for Fall 08 but we have a few other scholarship opportunities later in the year and I'm sure that the Army does too...their budget is somewhat larger than ours. |
