What do Special Ops Mechanics for the Navy Do?

My son is in boot Camp and is going to be trained as a Special OPS Mechanic for the Navy Seals. What can you tell me about this job? will he be on the missions with the seals?
Is he a part of the seals team?

No he is no part of the seal team. His job will entail keeping all the operational gear for them running!
