do people look down upon the army national guard??

whats the major difference between the army and the army national guard?? do employers look at one better than the other??

I think people do look down on the Army National Guard. The chief difference between the active Army and the Guard is that one is on full-time duty and one is not. Also, the active Army is under full Federal control, whereas the Guard is under joint State-Federal control. As for employers' attitudes, that would depend each individual employer.

By the way, it has been brought to my attention that when shipping out, some Army Guard units would actually be ready to go before their active Army counterparts.
