Should I join the military? I played call of duty 4 and now I'm REALLY interested in it. Sept I have a few questions.. Is there any position where I could work with computers? Do I need to know how to swim ( I know how, just can't...float :O) How old do I have to be? Whats it like? Do you like train (I assume you do) And for how long?

COD 4 Is NOT like real combat. You are ACTUALLY getting shot at. You have a REAL chance to die, or lose limbs/brain function from concussions, etc. Yes, there are computer positions in each branch. Quite a few. You really only need to know how to swim for Marines and Navy. You need to be at minimum 17 years old with parental permission. What its like varies from each perspective, MOS (job), service, and duty station. Your training once again depends on your job and branch.

Your in luck. The military is really just like a video game. Its a lot of fun and adrenaline pumping. There are tons of computer jobs available, I recommend when you go into the recruiting office tell them you want an open contract. That means they will find the best spot for you and after you tell them you are good with computers and kick a** at Call of Duty they will hook you up. If you cant float, dont worry, just dont join the Navy, might want to skip on the Marines too because they go on boats sometimes. You do have to be 18 and go to training. But they give you 3 good meals a day and you make lots of good friends. Good Luck!

the military, at least what I know of it is 5% doing your job, which you usually love. 45% doing stupid bullshit menial work and giving up your personal freedom, "Shut the fuck up and do what I say." And 50% meeting some really cool people you remember forever. Your not going to really "get some" working with computers as far as I'm concerned, and it doesn't happen like "Call of Duty 4" in real life. Your friends die, and there are no checkpoints to reload.

yes, you do need to know how to swim (and float) and you have to be 17 with a parent's permission and 18 without. I don't know too much of the other branches but in the Marine Corps., you go through 13 weeks of rigorous training ( it's said to be the hardest and longest training of all branches) and as far as computers go, there is a wide range of MOS's (jobs) you can go for that involve computers.... you should do some research on this..it's really not hard to find, and if you're 17 and older, you should contact your local recruiter.

Do you really want to join or are u just pumped up from playing the game, I mean thats what a good game does is get u excited and captivate u. I am about to join the navy and many aspects of it r wicked cool but its a big shock to the system still, its a change of life and once ur in theres no way out early other than dishonorable discharge (which will black-ball u forever) or an honorable discharge which comes from injuries and stuff u dont want. There r a ton of positions with computers look em up on the designated armed forces web site. u have to be 17 to enlist I think, and of course there is training, but it depends on what position u choose

Just remember, whatever attractive job (like computer) they show you to attract you to join might not be the job they actually give you once they have control of you. They do testing with the training, so if you don't learn to spell, you probably won't get the computer job. You could be getting shot at in Iraq, standing out there with a rifle and only 2 or 3 other guys. Worst of all, shot at or not, you will see the hate in people's eyes, because you will be the agent of the neo-cons in their quest for world domination. So it might be better to go serve something that's worthy of your time and effort.

Yes, there are computer positions. They put you through school for this. They teach you how to swim better, especially if you're going in the Navy. You must be between 17 and 35. It's hard work at first, but it gets easier over time. Yes, you train and workout on a regular basis depending on what division you join. Check out their webpages for more info.
