Can I join a different branch if I was discharged from the Navy???

I enlisted in the Navy and 2 months before my ship date I backed out because of conflicts at home and family problems, now that everything is out of the way the Navy will not let me join them anymore but I am interested in joining a different branch if that is possible. If so, what would I need to do???

yea maybe but it will be hard but why do it if you'll back out !

You won't know until you try. My guess is that, if they let you, you'll not get much of a choice of job fields and you'll have to ship sooner rather than later.

Just like you did when joining the Navy...talk to a Recruiter! Figure out what you want to get out of your commitment first (college money I'd say go Army..I think they may have the best GI Bill, travel probably Navy, technical skills probably Air Force). Then go see the recruiter for the service you'd like to join. Be up front and tell them everything that happened with your Navy try. May be able to talk to a different Navy Recruiter (different town probably) and see if they have a different view or know a different way to get you in. No matter what direction you go, recruiters are the ones you have to talk to though....
