Diamond has a spectacular aura about
Join the military or prison.?

What would you think of a person who insinuates that joining the military is an option for staying out of prison?. I'm not talking about young men avoiding or criminals who are allowed to do military time instead of jail. I am talking about it as an institution of conformity, and the frosting on the cake, said sage adviser is widely known to befriend individuals who are in and out of jail. Do you think the view is to narrow? Why or why not?

I don't think that it is a narrow view at all.

If by joining the military, it will keep these people out of trouble (or further trouble), then it is a positive option for them.

If this person is befriending people who are or have been in and out of trouble, for the sake of getting them to join the military, then to me I believe that he is doing a good thing for them (regardless of whether or not his motivations may be for different reasons).

I see it as a sort of intervention. I think that it will give the people who have been in trouble & who are heading down the wrong path, a chance at a better future.
They will be able to further their education, realize a secure job, find that sense of fellowship that is most likely missing in their lives, gain skills & direction, etc etc .. instead of spending their time & lives in prison.

Kevin P has a spectacular aura about
i think that it would be a good solution for some cases but would also be a very poor idea if implemented across the board.
