How do I get a waiver to join the Military if I have a Felony? Thanks for you quick responses to my previous question! Well I got my G.E.D after I was charged and have never failed a drug test so that should help me a bit. I just need to know how do I get the waiver? I live in Oklahoma (USA) and the crime where I was charged at is in a different state (Missouri). Who should I call/Where should I go? Thanks. No its not pending. I got a 3 Year Suspended Sentence so they gave me 3 Years Supervised and 2 Years Unsupervised Probation. I never had any other charges and an adult or juvenile. I am still serving probation time.

Being a recruiter for the army, and now retired, I have to ask if the felony is still pending? you cannot process if you have anything pending, to include probation and there is a waiting periond if you where jailed. But there is an interview process with the recruiting company commander and probably with the battalion executive officer. also depending if you have had other convictions, that may weigh in on granting you a waiver. Where the crimes where at is no big deal, only if anything is pending, other charges and then the interview process. But the local recruiting office where you are at can help. They will run police and court checks where you lived, worked and went to school over the past 3 years or where there is charge. And remember, not all branches accept the same applicants, so lets say that the army can waive a felony, the marines or air force may not.

you may not enlist until AFTER you have finished serving your probation. probation can NOT be ended early for the sole purpose of allowing you to enlist, and the recruiter cannot help in any way to get it ended. as to getting the waiver: depends on what exactly felony is. if it is domestic violence of any kind, or any other crime that is covered under the Lautenburg Act( unable to carry a weapon ever) you will NOT be getting a waiver. It if it involved Intent to sell or distribute illegal drugs, No waivers are authorized.
