| Aetar is right... It's better to be in the Red Cross or volunteer in a NGO than to join the Army... Those combats are really dangerous; and soldiers often come back home full with psychological scar... hard to erase... On the other hand; Red Cross or NGO are entirely pacifist (unlike the Army, where you go to be a peacemaker and not just peacekeeper) and help the people (mainly civilian) who got caught in between... If you join the Army you'll be considered as public force and not anymore as civilian... which is not a big deal... but, it stops you from doing certain things, as well as it gives you some advantages... I really think, you should do social work in a 3rd world country... Right now, in South America there are a lot of problems (some say due to global warming); here, in Ecuador, as well as Bolivia and Perú, there are floods and many people have lost their home... You could help us... and get to see how beautiful Latin America is... And what Volcomm says is true...!! What we need is peace and no more war!! So, stop thumbing him down... |

| SCREW THE MILITARY. no matter what you do for any army, violence based organization (army, marines, etc.) you will be sent over seas. Please, peace is what we need. The Peace Corps. is the organization for you. You must be 18. Basically, yu get "drafted" to go to a certain 3rd world country and you help them. For example: You could go to Africa, and help a community by building plumbing stuff, well. It all depends on what your degree is in. If you are a doctor, then you will be doing medical work. go to http://www.peacecorps.gov/ hope this helps! |
